Job Summary The US Payroll Garnishments Associate Analyst supports the accurate and timely processing of wage garnishments in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. This includes handling orders related to child support, tax levies, creditor garnishments, student loans, and other court mandated deductions. The role requires strong attention to detail, compliance awareness, and the ability to follow structured procedures while ensuring accurate payroll outcomes and maintaining audit-ready documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and enter garnishment orders such as child support, tax levies, creditor garnishments, and administrative orders.
  • Ensure timely activation, modification, and termination of garnishment deductions in accordance with order instructions.
  • Validate deductions during payroll processing to ensure correct withholding and prevent over or under deduction.
  • Respond to agency requests, verifications, and follow-up inquiries professionally and within required timelines.
  • Review employee payroll data for accuracy related to garnishment calculations and net to gross impacts.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and store all garnishment orders, updates, and correspondence per compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Payroll Tax, HRIS, CDCM, and Compliance teams to resolve garnishment related discrepancies.
  • Monitor assigned queues in case management tools and complete tasks within expected SLAs.
  • Assist with reconciliations of garnishment payments and refunds when required.
  • Support quarter end and year end reviews related to garnishment deductions and reporting.
  • Provide end-to-end customer support through multiple channels including Chat, Email, and Inbound/Outbound Calls, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional resolution of client and employee inquiries.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work in a 24/7 shift environment, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with business and client coverage requirements.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, HR, or related field (preferred).

Experience: 0-2 years of payroll processing, HR operations, or finance operations experience (US payroll preferred).

Experience with garnishments, compliance, or case management environments is an advantage.

Certifications (Preferred)

Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) APA (optional)

Skills & Competencies

Basic understanding of US payroll concepts and wage garnishment regulations.

Experience with HRIS platforms such as PeopleSoft, Workday, or SAP

Strong numerical accuracy and data entry precision.

Effective communication skills for interacting with agencies and internal teams.

Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and compliance discipline.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured SOPs.

Proficiency in Excel (basic formulas, sorting, filtering).

Willingness to learn payroll systems, garnishment tools, and case management applications.
