We are looking for an experienced Software Designer - Development (Java C2) to join our engineering team for enterprise integration and application development initiatives. The role requires strong expertise in Java-based backend development, middleware integration, and distributed systems with hands-on experience in Murex Open Connect/C2 environments. You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and development teams to deliver scalable and high-performance solutions in an Agile setup.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications and integration solutions
Develop backend services using Java EE, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot
Work extensively on Murex Open Connect/C2 integrations and related interfaces
Implement and maintain Apache Camel routes and endpoint integrations
Develop and support JMS-based messaging solutions and service-oriented architecture components
Work with XML technologies, including XML parsing, XPath, XQuery, XSL, and SOAP requests
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand technical and functional requirements
Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance and stability issues
Work with Oracle databases, SQL queries, JDBC connectivity, and transaction handling
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint deliverables
Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting across Linux/Unix and Windows platforms
Ensure application scalability, maintainability, and reliability
Contribute to test-driven development and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills
Must have
8 to 13 years of hands-on experience in Java application development
Strong experience with Murex Open Connect/C2
Expertise in Java 8/11/17 and above
Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework components such as Spring JMS and JPA
Strong experience in Apache Camel and endpoint handling
Experience with Hibernate and ORM technologies
Strong understanding of Oracle SQL, JDBC, and relational databases
Hands-on experience with XML, XQuery, XPath, XSL, and SOAP services
Strong understanding of Java memory management, garbage collection, and core Java internals
Experience with Java/Spring transaction management, including XA transactions
Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and distributed systems
Hands-on experience with Git, SVN, Bitbucket, or GitLab
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Experience working in Agile development environments
Good communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to have
Exposure to Python or Shell scripting
Experience with WebSockets and JMS APIs
Familiarity with tools such as Postman and Traces
Exposure to Capital Markets domain
Hands-on experience with test-driven development practices
Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles
