Site Reliability Engineer
Job Description
Metasphere IT Services LLP, a dynamic and growing company in the Information Technology industry, is seeking a talented and passionate Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team. As an SRE, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our critical systems and services. You will bridge the gap between development and operations, applying software engineering principles to infrastructure and operational problems. Your expertise will be vital in building robust, automated solutions that support our rapid growth and deliver exceptional service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and resilient infrastructure and platforms.
- Develop and implement automation for system provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and incident response.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity, identifying and proactively addressing potential issues.
- Lead incident response, troubleshooting complex issues, and conducting thorough root cause analyses to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure new features and services are designed for operational excellence.
- Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid and reliable software deployments.
- Implement and enforce security best practices across our infrastructure and applications.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems and ensure service continuity.
Required Qualifications/Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of professional experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a similar role.
- Strong expertise with Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
- Proven experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Solid programming/scripting skills in languages like Python, Go, or Bash.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing, Firewalls).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Familiarity with database administration (SQL/NoSQL).
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SRE, CKA).
- Experience working in a fast-paced, small to medium-sized company environment.
