Job Description

As a Systems Accountant at Lloyd's Register in Mumbai, India, you will be responsible for supporting the development and optimization of global finance systems and processes within the Maritime Finance Organisation. You will report to the General Ledger Global Process Owner and collaborate with colleagues across multiple countries, Finance Shared Services, technology partners, and key stakeholders throughout Maritime Finance. **Key Responsibilities:** - Support and maintain SAP Business ByDesign (ByD) and other key finance systems for stable and efficient operation. - Run and monitor finance business processes according to agreed timetables and operational requirements. - Assist in month-end close activities including payroll journal postings, fixed asset accounting, revenue recognition, and resolution of finance transactions. - Act as a super user for General Ledger and Intercompany processes within ByD and other finance applications. - Provide user training and process guidance on General Ledger and related finance processes. - Identify opportunities to improve finance systems, controls, and processes through automation and standardization. - Collaborate with technology partners to develop and implement automation and AI-driven initiatives. - Support projects focused on efficiency improvement, reducing manual effort, and enhancing financial reporting quality. - Assist in ongoing improvements to balance sheet management through the reduction of aged and open items. - Help develop and implement automated balance sheet reconciliation and control processes. - Act as a key interface between Maritime Finance, the Statutory Compliance Team, General Ledger teams, and Finance Shared Services. - Lead responses to internal and external audit queries relating to Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet movements. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related discipline. - Professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred. - Additional qualifications or certifications in ERP systems, finance transformation, or process improvement would be advantageous. In this role, you will need to have experience in financial accounting, general ledger, or finance systems roles, preferably with exposure to ERP finance systems like SAP Business ByDesign. Strong stakeholder management, communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively across global teams and cultures are essential. Fluency in English is required for this position.
